RAR makes no profit, your membership pays for what you get. SW pays for the website.

What?

The vast majority of runners would not dream of dropping litter. Our first aim is to turn this majority into everybody, and to make dropping rubbish entirely unacceptable.

That's why we ask you to join - you'll then receive a badge and car sticker to help spread the word. RAR is entirely charitable, your £2 just covers these items and postage.

So, whether you run on the roads, trails or fells, you can help us keep our hills, countryside and towns and cities as free of rubbish as possible.

Why?

Rubbish is unsightly, but it's also dangerous for wildlife. The RSPCA estimate over 7000 wildlife incidents each year are caused by rubbish. Dropping rubbish also makes extra work for race organisers and landowners, potentially jeopardises future events.

Who?

I am lucky to have taken part in races in spectacular locations around the world. I have met great people and been amazed by the beauty of the world, but every now and then a little wrapper or gel top catches your eye and spoils the moment.

I started RAR in 2016 to remind all runners that no-one should be dropping rubbish. Initially, the aim is to promote a mindful attitude amongst runners, and encourage everyone to take the pledge and be a "Binner". Since starting we've received amazing support from individuals and companies who've helped raise our profile. You can read a bit about our heroes here.

When & Where?

All the time, everywhere!

We want members to be concious of rubbish all the time, whether out running or not. In future we hope to organise events to tidy up specific areas, but initially the focus is promotion - the key to reducing rubbish is not stop it being dropped it in the first place.

Join us!

If you agree with us, why not join us, take the pledge (it's pretty easy!) and help spread the word. Membership costs just £2.

The Pledge:

1. I will never drop any rubbish and will always take my rubbish to a bin

2. I will encourage others not to drop rubbish

3. I will pick up rubbish when I see it and am able to do so
